A special mission of our congregation:
My dear sisters, it is a sign of the time that various religious families draw close together. We have to love thme all with a love greater than ever. We have to look for anything that brings us together and unites us. There is a great command today: Church unity above all! At the same time, we have to honestly say that it is not possible for a sister to organize her life in her own family according to another family. Why would it not be right? Not because she would be peculiar there, not because there would be discord. Even here we have to be guided by the supernatural understanding. As we know from a reliable source, St. Paul, there are different services in the Church, different gifts. They are brought about by the Holy Spirit. They are different because none is single and complete. In order to achieve entirety, different parts are necessary. Each part has its place within the unit. If the parts mixed, overlapped, they would not fulfill the service within the unit. Somewhere there would be confusion, somewhere there would be emptiness. So we have to faithfully fulfill our part of service in the whole mystical body of Christ. It is necassary to conscientiously discover the intentions of the founders in the particularity of individual religious families, in their spirit, in their lives, in their words and regulations; furthemore, throughout the history of our religious family as it understood and fulfilled this legacy in different times. The particularity of our religious family is a compassionate service to the poorest and the most in need. Therefore, we have – besides the efforts of personal sanctification – a service of love. HOLINESS AND MERCY – that is how our own ideals can be summarized in one motto.
