“You have surely understood, beloved Borromean sister,

• That the source of your spirituality is Lord’s suffering; there is a centre of the Borromeo secret,
• That you were endowed with the love for the Crucified when you were born for the order,
• That a Man of sorrows is your fiancé,
• So that also your service in the field of sorrows and suffering is a constant opportunity to practice an act of truthfulness and the warmth of this love.

As faithful guardians of the cross we may certainly hear words of Jesus’ love in a moment of high mercy: “Here is your Mother!”
